I want you to be as comfortable as possible when shooting with me and feel like you can ask me anything. However, to save a bit of time and ensure you feel as prepared as possible for your session, I’ve made a FAQ page to answer your queries.
Consultation?
I often recommend that if you're working with me for the first time do a consultation.
This involves an informal chat over tea (coffee is also ok)where we discuss all your options and what you're looking for in terms of shots and looks.
Where do we shoot?
I'm a Manchester-based photographer, so I shoot at my Ancoats-based studio or throughout the city of Manchester. I have my preferred location but tailor them to my client. I do shoot nationwide on request, this can be discussed through consultation.
What shall I bring to wear?
Generally, I advise bringing plenty/enough top changes which we can look at together when you arrive and discuss prior in consultation. Clean, contemporary lines for the men (eg. v-tee, slim-fit shirt/jumper/crew neck) plus blazers, jackets, leather, thicker rib jumpers), and low necks and neckline variations for the women are always good options. Be unafraid of bolder choices - patterns, colours, striking tops. Keep the look contemporary and consider dressing for your age and casting type/possibilities.
What kind of hair/make-up shall I do?
I often advise my clients to keep makeup natural. But have a variety of makeup artists I can recommend on request or via consultation
Do you shoot just actors?
I also provide corporate headshots, headshots for PR & social media and performers' headshots. So if your looking for these ask away.
How and when do I pay for my session?
You pay for your session via bank transfer or PayPal before the shoot. A non-refundable deposit of £50 will be taken on booking to secure your session. If you don't pay the deposit, you may lose the session.
